Thumb Fort on WhatsApp — Privacy Policy
Thumb Fort (Pty) Ltd is a company registered in South Africa, registration number 2026/698144/07, that publishes mobile games and apps. We use the WhatsApp Business Platform to talk to people on WhatsApp. This page explains what we receive when you message us there, what we do with it and how long we keep it. It covers WhatsApp only; each of our games and apps has its own privacy policy.
What we use WhatsApp for
Three things: sending you an install link for one of our games or apps when you ask for one, talking with you (questions, support and feedback), and sending you score sheets for games you play. We only message people who have messaged us first or asked us to send them something. If you tell us to stop, for example by replying STOP, we stop.
What we receive
When you message us, or when we message you, our server receives: your WhatsApp phone number, the profile name you have set in WhatsApp, the content of the messages you send us (text, and any pictures or files you choose to send), the time of each message, and whether our messages to you were delivered and read. We do not receive your contacts, your location (unless you choose to send it), or anything from your other chats.
How it reaches us
Messages travel through WhatsApp, which is run by Meta. Meta hosts the WhatsApp Business Platform for us and handles messages under its own terms and privacy policy. From Meta, messages are passed over an encrypted connection to a server we rent in the European Union (France), where we read them and reply.
How long we keep it
We keep messages and the details that came with them for 90 days, and then delete them. Meta keeps its own copies under its own rules, which we do not control.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, build profiles of you or share it with anyone except Meta, which carries the messages. We do not add you to marketing lists. We use your number only for the things described above.
Your rights
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and similar laws where you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email admin@thumbfort.games from your own address, or ask us on WhatsApp, and we will deal with it within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Children
Our WhatsApp channel is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has contacted us, tell us and we will delete what we hold.
Changes
If what we collect or how we use it changes, we update this page first and change the date at the top.
